Overview
Your Supermove account can be configured to support and apply Sales Tax on your customer invoices. The sales tax rate can be configured on your account globally, for a specific Project Type, or even for a specific customer's Project. Please review the explanation below on how you can manage Sales Tax behavior.
Setting-up Sales Tax
Establishing the Default Sales Tax
To configure the default Sales Tax rate in your account, please visit your Office App account and navigate to the following:
- Click Settings
- Click View/Edit Company Settings
- Click Accounting
- And then click Edit by the Sales Tax field as seen here
Establishing the Fees that are subject to Sales Tax

- Click Settings
- Click View/Edit Billing Settings
- Click View next to the billing library you are interested in
- Click a fee you wish to edit or +Add to create a new fee
- If you want the fee to incur a sales tax, click the Taxable checkbox as seen here
Customizing Sales Tax Settings per Project Type
Your Supermove account can be personalized so that specific project types can apply a different Sales Tax than the default one established in your Company Settings. To modify the Sales Tax for a specific Project Type, please do the following:
- Click Settings
- Click View/Edit Project
- Click the name of the Project Type that you wish to modify
- Click Accounting
- Click to Edit next to the Sales Tax Field
- Click Override to input a new value to replace the default Sales Tax from your Company Settings as seen here
Customizing Sales Tax for a Specific Customer Project
Lastly, you can edit and modify the Sales Tax rate for a specific customer project. To do so, please see the following:
- Navigate to the specific Project Page you wish to edit
- Navigate to the Billing block as seen here
- Click the three vertical dots next to the bill and select Edit Sales Tax
- A pop-up window will emerge. You can then input a new value for the Sales Tax for that specific project, and then click Save
- The new value will then be immediately applied to that project as seen here
Sales Tax and Quickbooks
If your Supermove account has been configured to integrate with Quickbooks, the steps above will allow the Sales Tax fees to be correctly and automatically mapped to your Sales Tax account in Quickbooks.
