Overview
This article outlines the process to import existing Storage Containers from your warehouse or previous software system, into Supermove's Storage Module. We highly recommend reading over the Importing Storage Customers into Supermove article before following the steps below.
Getting Started
1. The steps below walk through the bulk upload process for storage containers. Please contact help@supermove.com to learn more about Storage!
2. Reach out to your implementation or customer success manager and get a copy of the "Customer List & Container Mapping" spreadsheet and make sure you've completed the
3. Confirm that Warehouse (Names) and Container Types have been set up in Storage Settings: see Storage Settings (Warehouse & Container Types)
4. Copy the Warehouse Names and Container Types into the template as a reference
5. For each Container, set the Container Type and Warehouse (these should match exactly the way it’s typed in Storage Settings, hence using what you copied from the previous step to reduce human error)
5. Make sure the CSV file doesn’t have any extra/blank rows, this could cause an error when uploading
7. Delete any empty rows
8. There is conditional formatting for the Container name column to ensure there are no duplicates. No highlighted cells mean you are most likely good to upload
9. Coordinates:
- Coordinates are optional but recommended
- Note that the template has a space character (” “) entered into each of the coordinates’ cells, this is to ensure the fields don’t appear as “NaN” when bulk uploaded - make sure that any empty coordinate cells have a space character entered
- Make sure Warehouse and Container Type Names match exactly in the CSV (Case Sensitive!) to the ones created in Supermove, otherwise a mismatch may cause issues with uploading
