Overview
In Supermove, it’s important to understand the difference between projects and jobs. If you're not familiar with the difference, please start here before reading this article.
This topic is split into two articles:
- Job Configurations: These are a range of settings and behaviors, related and specific to the job type
- Crew Steps: These are the designated steps the crew must follow while performing a job on a tablet
Accessing Job Configuration Settings
1. Start by navigating to Settings and then Projects
2. Click on the desired Project Type name and then select the Job Type
3. Navigate to the Configuration tab if not already on it

Office App
Breakdown of Options:
- Enable Double Drive Time: This toggle is for our California customers. The Double Drive Time Law (DDT), passed by the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), requires California-based moving companies to double the amount of time it takes to get from the origin point to the destination point at the agreed upon hourly rate. If this is enabled, Supermove will automatically calculate and add the Double Drive Time to the bill. You no longer have to calculate and do the math, Supermove will do it for you!
- Enable Double Drive Time Over 10 Miles: When this is enabled, if the move is less than 10 miles, no Double Drive Time will show. However, if the move is more than 10 miles then Double Drive Time will be enabled.
-
Enable Pre-Payment Quickbooks Sync: If this is toggled on, Supermove will sync the customer info from Supermove to QuickBooks when payments are made; as opposed to the normal functionality of syncing with Quickbooks when the reports are finalized. This toggle is rarely utilized.
Crew App
Breakdown of Options:
- Allow Documents to be Skipped: Having this toggle on will allow the customer to skip documents where a signature is requested. Keep in mind that this is all or nothing. You won’t be able to select specific documents that you would like to skip.
- Allow Skip Pre-Move Payment: Enabling this toggle will surface a skip option for any pre-move payments. It is important to note that this toggle is tied directly to the “Pre Move Billing,” toggle which is configured in the Crew Steps section. Having this toggle disabled will require action from the customer in the pre-move billing phase.
- Edit Billing and Payments: Having this toggle on enables a button for crew members to edit the bills and add payments. This shows up before the crew selects “Prepare Documents.” When the crew member scrolls down to the “Billing,” section, a big blue Edit button will show up on the right-hand side of the screen. If the crew taps on the edit button they will be able to add additional supplies, discounts, hourly rates, and even custom items. If this toggle is "off", the edit button simply will not show up.
- Automatically Skip Payments: This will default the crew app to skip the entire Payments section, and jump from timesheets straight into documents, then completion
- Hide Billing Section: Helpful if wanting to limit the crew's ability to see pricing and billing details while using the tablet
-
Set Start Time on Arrival at Location: It’s standard to have this toggle on. Having this enabled will set the start time for the timesheet right as the crew arrives at the first location of the move. This will encourage your crew to get started quickly.
-
Set Start Time on Departure from Warehouse: This toggle will start the timesheet as soon as the crew leaves the warehouse.
-
Show Pre-Move Bills: Having this Toggle off will hide the Pre-Move bill that is shown to the customer before they sign off on the documents. Below is a basic example of the step that would be skipped.
- Timesheets:
- Standard - Recommended and most common option for tracking crew time on a job
- Per Mover - Helpful if working with large crews that come/go throughout the job and are paid at different rates and hours
Customer App
Breakdown of Options:
-
Send Arrival SMS: When this toggle is enabled, Supermove sends a text to the customer when the Movers get near the origin location AND it’s within 30 minutes (plus or minus) of the start time. For example, if the move start time is 9 am, and the crew gets near the origin location anywhere from 8:30 am to 9:30 am, a text will automatically be sent to the customer.
-
Send Tracking Link on Drive Started: This is a convenient option to have to automatically notify customers when the crew leaves the warehouse. Supermove will automatically send a text message to the customer with a link to track the tablet as soon as the tablet recognizes that it is moving faster than 15 MPH. This ensures transparency with the customer and encourages your crews to arrive at the customer's location as quickly as possible.
-
Send Tracking Link on First Position: Having this option enabled will send a text message to the customers with a link to track the tablet. The message will be sent as soon as the job is started on the tablet, and not according to when the tablet recognizes that it’s moving faster than 15 MPH.
