Overview
We are introducing a standardized approach for using URL and Link variables across all modules. This update ensures consistency in how we handle URLs and links in emails, SMS, and document templates.
- URL Variables provide raw URLs for customers to navigate directly to a page.
- Link Variables are styled and primarily used within email templates for better presentation.
URL Variables (Emails, SMS, Documents)
The new URL variables end with _URL. These variables provide the raw URL without any additional formatting or text and are intended for the following use cases:
- SMS Templates: Where raw URLs are needed for quick access.
- HTML Emails: Particularly when custom formatting is applied around the URL.
- To add it to your templates, type the indication you want the client to see. For example, "Click here", "Please Review The Link", etc. Then copy the URL variable from the list and use the Hyperlink option to add it.
Link Variables (Emails, SMS, Documents)
Link variables, ending with _LINK, are designed for situations where a formatted, clickable link is preferred. These variables are often styled with phrases like “Click to view” or “Press to start.” They should mainly be used in:
- Email Templates: Where a well-presented, styled link is needed for user engagement.
This update ensures that both URL and Link variables are used appropriately for the best customer experience and keeps all templates uniform across the platform.
